We’re on the lookout for a flexible and passionate Orthoptist/Optometrist/Ophthalmic Technician to join us in the Ophthalmology Department at Christchurch Hospital, the largest public hospital on the South Island!
Joining 2 Optometrists and 3 Orthoptists, you will work closely with our highly skilled and specialised Ophthalmologists with specific interests in Vitreoretinal and Neuro-ophthalmology among others. You’ll see a wide diversity of clinical practice and exposure to eye pathology not available in the community setting.
You’ll have hands on experience with a wide range of technical equipment, which will see you transition easily into our busy team. We’re actively involved in paediatric and adult strabismus assessments, cataract assessments – IOL master and ultrasound biometry, Visual Fields (Goldmann and Humphrey), corneal topography, OCT, general ophthalmic duties, auditing and research practices.
This permanent role is for 24 hours per week. The specific arrangement of these hours will be discussed and mutually agreed upon.
