
Orthoptist - Eye Clinic, Waitakere and Greenlane Clinical Centre (ADHB)
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Orthoptist to join the team!
Working within a team of four Orthoptists in a purpose built Ophthalmology department you will be working alongside a team of 36 consultants, 5 specialising in paediatrics, 4 in ocular plastics and 3 in adult strabismus.
This is your chance to let your skill set shine as you will be involved in general orthoptic clinics, adult motility, an orthoptic/optometry clinic and support of the acute ophthalmology service. You may also have the opportunity to work in visual field assessment, tonometry, and biometry and keratometry in the pre-operative work up of cataract patients.
The department will also encourage you to participate in teaching sessions for doctors, nurses and optometry students which will help broaden your clinical teaching experience.
To be considered for this role, you must have at least three year’s clinical experience as well practical knowledge of A scans, K readings, tonometry, Humphrey Visual Fields. Knowledge regarding Microsoft Access Database would be advantageous but not essential.
